Robbery suspect shot by concealed carry holder on North Side CHICAGO — A robbery suspect was shot early Wednesday morning in West Ridge by a concealed carry holder.Just after 3:30 a.m., police said three men, ages 26, 33 and 31 were standing near their vehicle when they were approached by a man displaying a gun.The man demanded the men's property. At some point, the 26-year-old man, who has a concealed carry licenses, shot the robbery suspect multiple times. The man was transported to St. Francis in critical condition. (NEWS10) -- According to the New York State Police, two people died after a Tesla driving at a high rate of speed crashed into a house in Livingston on Thursday. Peter Lasher, 81, was found deceased inside the home, and police currently cannot positively identify the driver, who also perished. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened in a Second Street apartment on Tuesday around 11:45 p.m. Police say upon arrival, they found 26-year-old Eduardo Montes of Albany inside the basement apartment with a gunshot wound to his torso. Firefighters mobilize to suppress 50-acre Devil’s Thumb fire in Grand County Firefighters on Wednesday were preparing to suppress a fire burning on about 50 acres northeast of Fraser in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, according to authorities in Grand County.Lightning likely ignited this Devil’s Thumb fire but the cause remains under investigation, authorities said. While the fire wasn’t contained late Tuesday, rain overnight may have helped to squelch hotspots, Grand County Sheriff officials said in a posting on Twitter. On Wednesday, a U.S. Forest Service firefighting team was expected to coordinate the suppression.No evacuations were ordered. The fire apparently broke out Tuesday in the wilderness near the Devil’s Thumb Trailhead, about 7 miles northeast of Fraser.
