Music has always been at the bloody goat’s heart of TRVE Brewing Co. And music is what convinced the owners of the 11-year-old brewery that it was time for a second location. At some point in 2024, TRVE will open a 3,500-square-foot taproom next to Denver’s Mission Ballroom, on the ground floor of the 11-story Mica RiNo apartment complex. The building is part of the larger North Wynkoop development at Brighton Boulevard and 43rd Street.“I had been keeping my ear to the ground and looking at prospective locations. This was the first one that made a lot of sense,” Nunns said, talking about the proximity to the music venue. The taproom “will be about beer and heavy metal. The same things we have always been about.”Hyoung Chang, The Denver PostDenver, CO – JUNE 10 : Dining space of TRVE Brewing Co. is photographed in Denver, Colorado on Friday, June 10, 2022. Goats are particularly good at one thing: Eating. Unlike a horse or cow that leaves noxious weeds behind, goats eat the whole menu of pesky weeds, bushes, and small trees. That means goats can be one of the answers to the growing problem of tinder-dry, highly flammable forests. In Durango, former firefighter Jonathan Bartley runs a business called DuranGoats, along with partner Adrian Lacasse, and it’s so popular they’re booked daily. Their herd usually works along the wildland-urban interface of the San Juan National Forest, clearing undergrowth around private houses in heavily wooded, steep areas at the town’s periphery. Thanks to his work, Bartley has come to a conclusion about newcomers to the West: “When people move here thinking ‘I’d love to live in the woods,’ they’re probably making a big mistake.” If they do choose to live surrounded by trees or next to a forest, though, he has advice.Because utilities cut off electricity during fires, he suggests buying a generator to keep s...Migrant arrivals in Denver have increased so quickly that the city asked for help from the National Guard

The “unprecedented” number of migrants landing in Denver in recent weeks has grown so quickly that the city announced plans to once again shorten the length of time individuals can stay in temporary shelters — though it’s extended the time limit for families.Denver city leaders also requested assistance from the Colorado National Guard in the last week. But because the state had not declared a state of emergency and activated the National Guard, state officials instead sent civilian employees to help.On Tuesday, 122 migrants arrived in Denver, bringing the number of people staying in temporary shelters to 2,510, according to city data. The recent influx has been driven in part by charter buses sent to Denver and other cities by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s administration as that state contends with a sharp increase in crossings at the Mexican border.“Over the past week the daily average of new arrivals is nearly 300,” a city news release stated....3 of our favorite bites from Michelin-recommended restaurants in Denver

While it might be difficult to get a reservation at Denver’s three newly Michelin-starred restaurants, there’s still plenty of Michelin love to go around. In addition to Michelin-starred Bruto, The Wolf’s Tailor and Beckon, Denver is now home to eight out of nine Bib Gourmand restaurants and 15 out of 30 Michelin-recommended restaurants. All of these are different categories, with the stars being the highest honor.Recommended restaurants mean that the guidebook’s reviewers felt they enjoyed a good meal with quality ingredients, according to Michelin. But not at the same level as the stars.Still, there’s no better time to be eating around town and indulging in the restaurants that are putting Denver’s food scene on the map. Here are three of my favorite recent bites from Michelin-recommended restaurants around the Mile High City:Temaki Den: Salmon oshizushiYou can’t go wrong with anything on Temaki Den’s menu.
